Fee: $5 fee per car (or 1$ per person if you park outside the lot) 

Parking: Small parking lot that fills up quickly. $5 per car or park outside the lot and pay $1 per person at trailhead. 

What to expect: Very easy hike that is both family and elderly friendly. A short drive from Hilo will bring you to Akaka Falls State Park. Follow the paved footpath for a short hike/walk through a jungle-like environment to the viewing point of a 422-foot waterfall (seriously its huge!) 

As mentioned before, the hike is very short and takes about 30 minutes round trip. It can be crowded at the viewing point so take your time and enjoy the scenery!

This waterfall is definitely a must see. However it can be a tourist trap and it does cost money. If you are looking for an actual hike or workout this is not the right choice.  However it is great for photos and an easy stroll to a beautiful waterfall.
