Parking: Park below trailhead. Park at own risk. Do not park on Trout Farm RD

What to expect: Drive past Ka'a'awa until you reach Kahana Bay. Start by parking across the road in the dirt area, on your right hand side. (Do not leave any valuables in your car, this area is prone to car break-ins). Carefully cross the street and you will see signs for the start of the trail. (You will see do not enter signs at the trailhead, this means you must hike at your own risk).

Pu'u Manamana trail is up the eastern ridge surrounding Kahana Valley. Continue following the trail upward to the peak. The Pu'u Manamana trail requires intermediate yet dangerous climbing. This hike takes a few hours to complete so make sure to bring lots of water and snacks. Once at the top of the mountain you will reach a fork in the trail, take a right at the fork and head down toward the Kahana Valley to end up back where your car is. 

Terrain: Dirt trail, steep inclines, not a clear and maintained path.
